“Karnataka as an Agri & High Value Food Powerhouse”

Agro and food processing is a sunrise sector with its domestic as well as export opportunities addressing the demand and supply gap. With the global food processing industry being pegged at USD 3.2 trillion, there exists a large market opportunity for export -led growth through development of high value-added products. The State Government of Karnataka announced an Agri Business and Food Processing Policy 2015 with an aim to maintain a sustained growth path through use of global technologies, vinnovative mechanisms, frameworks and world class infrastructure facilities. This session shall showcase India’s strengths and achievements in the sector, comparing it with global performance. This session shall also discuss on the present scenario and the way forward for the improvement of infrastructure and supply chain for the sector.
