The National Manufacturing Policy aims for an increase in the share of manufacturing in the country’s Gross Domestic Product from 16% to 25% by 2022, to create 100 million additional jobs by 2022 in manufacturing sector and enhancing the global competitiveness of the Indian manufacturing sector. The State Government of Karnataka gives a great thrust on manufacturing and encourages start-ups in the manufacturing sector. The state has one of the largest and best functioning start up ecosystem in the country and the drive towards manufacturing startups is highly critical to achieve the vision of ‘Make in India’. This session shall deliberate on leveraging India’s intellectual base to create an environment of young entrepreneurs and job creators. This session shall also discuss on Bengaluru as the new startup city and the government initiatives to promote the start-up and entrepreneurial culture.
