The state’s commitment to research and development is reflected in its 400+ R&D centers. Karnataka’s biotechnology sector is equally impressive, accounting for 60% of India’s biotech production and exports. The state is also a leader in information technology, contributing 40% of India’s IT exports. Environmental sustainability is a key focus, with 65% of the state’s installed power capacity coming from renewable sources. These achievements are further underscored by Karnataka’s leadership in innovation, as it ranks first in the number of patent applications filed in India.
