KIADB Industrial Area
Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) is a statutory body under the aegis of the department of Industries & Commerce responsible for development of industries in the state. It is responsible for acquisition of land and development of industrial infrastructure facilities for the use of the industry. KIADB has till date been involved in development of over 173 Industrial estates & over 490 single unit complexes in various districts of the state.
As an investor, you can search for an appropriate site for your project in any of the KIADB Industrial areas by using the following GIS system:
GIS Based Industrial Information System
The purpose of the GIS based Industrial Information System (GIS-IIS) is to help an investor planning to use own/revenue/converted land for setting us their industry by:
- Helping them understand details of various facilities, infrastructure and other assets in its vicinity
- Ascertaining whether their chosen land parcel meets all the siting guidelines and rules/regulations for their industry type
Own/revenue land
An investor is free to use an appropriate land parcel that has been approved for industrial use. This can either be land that is already owned by the investor or is a revenue land that the investor is intending to buy. In either of the cases, the investor can use the state’s GIS based Industrial Information System (GIS-IIS) for the following:
- Visually see the location of the chosen site(s) and presence of various facilities & amenities in its vicinity
- Compliance of the site location to the various location related rules and regulations for different industries
Private Industrial Parks

The Government of Karnataka is actively encouraging establishment of industrial parks in the state either by private investors or through PPP mode. This has led to development of Grade-A infrastructure by several private players and developers. An investor now has the option to locate their project in one of these private parks offering world-class warehousing, industrial or commercial office facilities.
