Ramanagara

A bustling business district, Ramanagara is a hotspot for keen investors. The district is just 50 km away from Bengaluru city. With notified land banks of more than 12,000 acres, the district encourages a diverse investment portfolio in urban infrastructure, textiles, food processing and tourism development. Ramanagara also has major production of mangoes and bananas along with mango ripening chambers and banana chips manufacturing facilities. It is well known for the availability of medicinal plants at Savandurga, Magadi Taluk. It is earmarked to be a textile hub with Asia’s largest cocoon market housed here. Water

Arakavati and Kanva are the two main rivers in Ramanagara district. The district heavily relies on Kanva, Manchinbele and Harobele as the main sources for minor irrigation projects in the region.

Power

Transmission in the district is done by Bengaluru (Bangalore) Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM). Average annual industrial consumption is 5405 units, and domestic consumption is 1089 units.

Granite and building stone are the natural resources found in abundance here.

Connectivity

The air connectivity to the district is excellent with access to three international and two domestic airports. It has railway connectivity to Bengaluru, Mysuru and other locations with six railway stations and 44 km of railway line within the district. National highway 206 and 209 pass through the district adding road access, and Chennai, Kochi, Karwar, Mangaluru and Goa ports provide sea route access.
