Koppal

Located in the northern part of Karnataka, Koppal as a district houses regions with second-largest agricultural production in the state. It has a marketing committee at Gangavati driving agriculture from the front. Koppal produces food crops like paddy, maize, jowar and bajra, and fruits like pomegranate and grapes. The region is also known for its plantation crops like beetle vine and coconut. A proposed rice technology park is set to add momentum to the food processing industries here. Tissue culture techniques to improve banana yields in local varieties will help farmers to select suitable crops for cultivation. Plans are on to build steel ancillary units across 154.39 acres with KAIDB acquiring land at Basapura village.
