Srirangapatna

Srirangapatna, located in the Mandya district is a town of cultural and religious importance. Apart from various religious and pilgrimages, Srirangapatna is also a town of historical importance. Srirangapatna was the scene of the last battle of the fourth Anglo – Mysore war. The 1799 battle was fought here between Tipu Sultan, the then ruler of Mysore, and Nizams of Hyderabad and the East India Company. At the climax, Tipu was killed by one of his confidants within the fort, which is now marked as a memorial.

Srirangapatna

Srirangapatna is a tiny island town in Karnataka on the River Cauvery. The town is famous for its most popular pilgrimage and architectural marvel, the Ranganathaswamy temple. One of its kinds, the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Other places of interest include Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, Dariya Daulat Bagh, Balmuri Falls, Karighatta viewpoint, Tipu Sultan Gumbaz, Srirangapatna fort, and much more.
