Bagalkote
Rightly called the laboratory of architecture, Bagalkote is a haven of natural resources like limestone and granite. Located in the northern part of Karnataka, the place provides immense opportunities for the cement industry and for setting up food processing units. With over 67% of the net area under cultivation, Bagalkote is a major producer of crops like cotton and sugarcane. The food processing sector is led by sugar factories and flour mills.

Land
The district has a total land area of 6,552 sq km with 12.31% forest cover. Bagalkote has varied climatic conditions and bimodal rainfall patterns that enables easy tilling of land. Land Bank Availability: 59.04 acres
Water
The rivers Krishna, Malaprabha and Ghataprabha along with Hipparagi and Hirepadasalagi barrages are used to irrigate the land. Several lift irrigation systems, wells and canals contribute to more than 59% of irrigation in the land.
Power
Bagalkote has a major hydel power project at the Almatti Dam reservoir and six power generation units that supply a combined capacity of 290 MW. The units utilize both the irrigation releases and flood flow to generate power.

The region is rich in natural reserves like limestone, granite, pink granite and dolomite.
Human Resources
With several technical institutes and pre-university colleges in the district, there is no dearth of skilled manpower for various industries.
Connectivity
Three international and two domestic airports are accessible from this region. A broad-gauge railway line connects Bagalkote to Bengaluru and Mumbai via Gadag & Hutgi. Two national highways NH13 and NH 218 go through the district, and four seaports are accessible from this region.
